Review impressive on hurdling debut Willie Mullins and Ruby Walsh notched a quick double at Fairyhouse this afternoon when Up For Review made an impressive debut over hurdles. The Presenting gelding, in the colours of Graham and Andrea Wylie, was allowed to hit the front turning for home on the first circuit in the two-and-a-half mile contest. Walsh was sitting motionless going to the second last, as his rivals toiled, and he was able to cruise clear after the final flight for a comprehensive eight length success over 13/8 favourite Space Cadet. The former point-to-pointer had impressed when taking his bumper at Leopardstown last Christmas but ran freely when tried in Grade 1 company at Cheltenham. He had finished a moderate third behind stable-mate Yorkhill, who carries the same colours, at Punchestown when last seen. "That was a nice performance. He gallops and jumps, and is crying out for a fence," said Mullins. "He'll stick to novice hurdling this year. He's an out and out stayer and hopefully one of our better staying novices. "He's by Presenting so he should handle better ground but he handles that ground well." Davy Russell made his return to action on the runner-up Space Cadet. The two-time champion jockey was having his first ride since suffering a broken arm and broken foot in a fall at Cork on August 30th. (Quotes by Alan Magee)
