Rayisa makes all under Foley for Halford Rayisa made all to take the opener at Gowran, the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden, under Shane Foley for Mick Halford and the Aga Khan. Fifth on her debut at the Curragh last month the daughter of Holy Roman Emperor went down by just a head when well-backed on her last start at Galway. Sent off the 11/8 favourite today she was sent straight to the front and was pushed along with two furlongs to race. She was ridden inside the final furlong to fend off the late challenge of newcomer Best In The World with half a length separating them at the line. The runner-up was returned at 15/8 (from 5/2) under Seamie Heffernan for Aidan O'Brien. The front two went two and a quarter lengths clear of newcomer Nudge (8/1) who was third under Pat Smullen for Dermot Weld. Mick Halford said afterwards: "She's a lovely straight-forward filly and we put her experience to use. We popped her out smart and making the running was no bother to her. She very genuine. "She could go for a Listed race at the Curragh in October and she'll have no bother stepping up next season. "She loved the ground and looks progressive." STEWARDS REPORT * The Stewards fined Patrick Tallis, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Turasoir, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order. * F.M. Berry, rider of Santa Monica (GB) trained by Charles O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount jumped right leaving the stalls and lost all chance. Additional reporting by Gary Carson
