A deputation of jockeys and trainers, along with the stewards and some officials examined the track at Dundalk today prior to racing, and again following the first race, where it was deemed that racing could initially go ahead, and then continue.

There has been dissatisfaction surrounding the racing surface in recent months and while the riders were happy to ride for today's fixture, many industry figures feel the condition of the racing surface needs to be looked into.

The stewards decided that racing could continue.
