Spot Thedifference benefitted from an inspired ride by Ruby Walsh to land the Bank Of Ireland Roscommon Handicap Chase in front of a larrge crowd at the mid-western venue.
The Enda Bolger-trained gelding was under pressure with a circuit to run, but Walsh never gave up as the eight-year-old stayed on grimly to lead on the run-in for a five length victory over Torduff Boy.
'He appreciated the good ground, and stays very well', said winning owner J P McManus' racing manager, Frank Berry. He added: 'He won a hunter chase at Kilbeggan last month, and will go back there for a handicap at the next meeting (June 25)'.

Crevelli showed improved form when giving away weight all round in the juvenile auction maiden. The Tommy Stack-trained filly struck the front well over a furlong out to beat San Marco by three lengths, and has 'only started to strengthen up in the last few weeks' according to Stack's son Fozzy.
