Mick Channon today revealed that he has booked Michael Roberts to ride well-backed Worthington Lincoln hope Muchea.
And he admitted that his six-year-old, quoted at just 14-1 for Saturday's Doncaster handicap by Ladbrokes and William Hill, "could be well in at the weights".
Roberts rode Muchea into third place in the Group One Prix Maurice de Gheest at Deauville in 1998, when the horse also won the Gladness Stakes at the Curragh.
He has only 9st to carry at Doncaster after a barren spell with David Hayes in Hong Kong last year and Channon said: "Muchea is in great form and we have had the race in mind for him for a day or two.
"Michael Roberts will ride him and he has ridden him before. He could be well-in at the weights on his old form."
Third place on Miss Cuddles in 1988 is Roberts' best effort from eight previous rides in the Lincoln.
