RELKEEL SET FONTWELL TARGET

Relkeel will try to recapture his form in the Bonusprint National Spirit Hurdle at Fontwell on Monday.

Trainer Alan King said: "I hope he will run and we'll see how he goes before thinking about Cheltenham."

The 11-year-old, winner of the Bula Hurdle at Cheltenham for the last three seasons, failed to shine when well behind Auetaler in the Agfa Hurdle at Sandown earlier this month.

"There's not much I can say about that run except that it was disappointing," said King.

"But it could well be that he needs a longer distance nowadays.

"It might be that he is not up to tackling the likes of Istabraq and Dato Star in the Champion Hurdle but if it came up bottomless at Cheltenham it might be a different story."

The Fontwell race, run over two and a half miles and carrying £20,000 in added prize money, has attracted 11 entries, including last year's Elite Racing Club Triumph Hurdle winner Katarino.
