John Reid leaves tomorrow for Singapore where he rides Monsajem for Ed Dunlop in the Singapore Airlines International Cup at Kranji on Saturday.
His mount races under the banner of the Maktoum family's Gainsborough Stud, for whom Reid will be retained jockey this season.
"This will be my first time in Singapore," said the rider. "But I have ridden Monsajem twice and have been unplaced on both occasions. I suppose he would have the chance of a place but it's a hot-looking contest."
Monsajem's stable-companion Night Style, winner of the Group One Gran Criterium in Italy last term, will run in the Singapore Plate.
A spokesman for trainer Dunlop confirmed that Monsajem and Night Style left for the Far East last Thursday.
Monsajem has been invited to go to Dubai for the Duty Free Stakes on March 25 but no decision has been made on whether the horse will run in the Nad Al Sheba contest.
