Race Leader is almost certain to take his chance in the Sagitta 2000 Guineas with John Reid in the saddle.
Barry Hills's charge will line up at Newmarket on Saturday week along with better-fancied stablemate Distant Music.
"As far as I am aware it's pretty certain that he's going to run now," confirmed Reid's agent Ian Shoemark.
Reid takes the mount as he is contracted to ride for Race Leader's owner Mohammed Obaida.
The 44-year-old jockey is still to taste victory in the 2000 Guineas after numerous attempts.
"John's won the 1000 Guineas, the Derby and the St Leger but not the 2000 Guineas or the Oaks," said Shoemark.
"He'd love to win the 2000 Guineas for the first time and another Derby wouldn't be bad either!
"Race Leader seems to be something of a forgotten horse. He's not even in some of the betting that I've seen.
"But in an open year you could hardly say he's a complete no-hoper.
"He was only beaten two lengths by the favourite Giant's Causeway last year and there was nothing wrong with his defeat of French Fellow in the Thirsk Classic Trial."
