RAIN FORCES LINGFIELD CHANGES

Changes were announced to Saturday's card at Lingfield Park today as the round course at the English track is unraceable due to heavy rain.

The Arena Leisure Plc Handicap Stakes and the Guinea Pig Club Handicap Stakes will now both be run on the all-weather course.

Existing entries for both races will not stand and each has been reopened until noon tomorrow.

The 10-furlong Dame Vera Lynn Maiden Stakes will now be run over seven furlongs on the turf straight course and will also close at noon tomorrow.

The British Horseracing Board has announced that in the light of the loss of the 10-furlong maiden a replacement race, the Wates Group Maiden Stakes, will be run as the eighth race at Newmarket on Saturday with entries also closing at midday tomorrow.
