Britain`s racecourses today gave their overwhelming backing to the Racecourse Association`s decision to recommend Go Racing`s bid for the sport`s media rights.
Only two of Britain`s 59 tracks have yet to agree to enter a two-week exclusivity period for contract negotiations with the consortium.
And RCA chairman Angus Crichton-Miller is hopeful that the two tracks will have a change of heart in the near future.
Go Racing required an acceptance of their bid from all courses with terrestrial TV coverage and courses making up 70 per cent of annual off-course betting turnover and this has been reached.
Crichton-Miller said: I am delighted at the response of our members.
'Whatever their individual preference - and Carlton had their supporters - they have overwhelmingly recognised that the priority is to get on and try to conclude a satisfactory 59-racecourse deal with Go Racing.
'Whilst I am disappointed that two racecourses have not yet signed I hope they may do so later today.'
