The lightly-raced Instant Pur stepped up on previous form to claim the four and five year-old maiden hurdle at Cork.

A flying visit from his nephew Jack made it a family success as the filly was produced to lead at the last and score by two-and-a-half lengths from 40/1 shot Speed Stead.

The winner had raced three times without distinction on the level but had showed a glimmer of promise when a moderate fourth on her hurdling debut at Punchestown. Duc De Savoie was sent off a warm order (1/1f) for in-form trainer Dermot Weld but could only finish a well beaten fourth.
"I got a present of this mare!," revealed the Ballymore Eustace-based handler afterwards.
"Everything suited her today. She was getting almost two stone off the favourite. I suppose I'll look at a winners' of one now."
