QUINN STAY EXTENDED

Jimmy Quinn has had his freelance contract in Hong Kong extended until the end of the season by the Hong Kong Jockey Club.

Quinn was originally granted a club licence until the end of this month by the HKJC following his split with trainer Brian Kan.

The jockey then applied for an extension to ride until the end of the Hong Kong season on June 25th, which has been officially approved by the local authorities.

It has been a topsy-turvy season for Quinn whose relationship with the volatile Kan ended with the sacking of the former British-based rider.

The fallout was a result of the poor performance of Master Fay at the Chinese New Year Meeting at Sha Tin.

Quinn, despite losing his job with Kan, continues in good form and has ridden 17 winners so far this season.
