Jimmy Quinn has been granted a freelance licence by the Hong Kong Jockey Club after being sacked as stable jockey by trainer Brian Kan last week.
His club licence enables Quinn to ride freelance until March 31st.
Kan put in a request to the HKJC to have his arrangement with Quinn terminated after being unhappy with his riding of Master Fay at Sha Tin on February 7th.
Quinn wasn't prepared to accept a mutual termination of the contract, claiming that he had done nothing wrong.
