Cork Racecourse in Mallow looks the place to be this Easter weekend with three days of racing starting on Saturday plus a great line-up of entertainment both at the track and in the town.

Flat racing takes centre-stage on Saturday (first race at 2.20pm) with the €40,000 Listed Cork Stakes over six furlongs the highlight, while the Grade 3 Imperial Call Chase is the feature race the following day on an eight-race all National Hunt card (first race at 2.05pm).

Amateur riders have the day to themselves on Monday when the seven race jumping card beginning at 2.20pm will have a strong point-to-point influence.

The going is currently good on the National Hunt tracks which have been watered, while it is good to firm (good in places) on the Flat track which has been aerated.

The stalls will be situated on the stands' side for the three sprint races on Saturday's card.

TV3’s Karen Koster will be on hand to judge the best dressed lady competition on Sunday, and she will be assisted by Darren Forde to decide on the best dressed gent.

There will also be plenty of entertainment for children on Sunday with a track-less train to give them a spin around the grounds, together with a puppet show, an Easter egg hunt, mobile farm, stilt walkers, face painters and a crocodile tunnel.

All of the above facilities are free, while the Munster v Ulster Heineken Cup quarter final will be shown live on the big screen.

The kids are also well catered for on Monday with the crocodile tunnel, face painting, a carousel and playground.

There are a number of attractive admission deals available including a three-day ticket priced at €30, while the €20 social package will get you admission, racecard, €5 bet and a pint.

The €45 racing and restaurant package includes admission, a four course lunch, racecard, a private balcony and table for the day.

Mallow town will be a hive of activity over the weekend with a food and craft fair, while live music will be played on the streets.
