Persian Wind enjoys "run of the race" from the front Back over flights for the first time since July, Persian Wind (10/1) came good for the father and son team of Philip and Luke Dempsey in the JP Corry Build Aviator Handicap Hurdle at Downpatrick. Persian Wind, fourth here over fences a fortnight back, got this done from the front. Last year’s winner of the 80 to 102 event, Muroor, chased home at a distance of four and a half lengths. Favourite Tiger Twenty Two tried to come with his run down the inner over the closing couple of flights. He was ultimately well held, a length and three parts back in third. "He's a bit better over fences but he was able to dictate it from the front and we are delighted," said Dempsey senior. "Our fella has run well around here before. He has struggled a bit over fences this year and has probably struggled a bit over hurdles too. "It suited him today, he got the run of the race. We'll tip away with him, he's been a great servant and has won plenty of prize money. He has won a few races. "He'll mix it with fences. He's a bit lower over hurdles and has won off that mark before and was entitled to go close." (MG & EM) (MG & EM)
