High-quality National-Hunt mare Party Central (7/2) ran down her rivals to win the concluding maiden over an extended 1m1f in Gowran Park.

She hadn't been seen since winning the opening mares' novices' hurdle for Gordon Elliott at last year's Punchestown Festival.

The Yeats mare really picked up the chase on the run to the furlong pole and stayed on in the closing stages to get up in the final strides by half a length from the game Esculenta (9/2). Most Wanted the 3/1 favourite, was the same distance away in third.

Assistant trainer Ian Amond said: “We were thinking she would come on plenty from it. She was slow away, but travelled well. Jack (Kearney) said she had a blow but then picked up from the furlong pole.

“She may go for a mares' Listed hurdle at Killarney next month.”
