PUNCHESTOWN REMAIN ON CENTRE COURSE

Punchestown Racecourse has announced today that their two remaining fixtures of the year will be run on the alternative track in the centre of the course.

The decision was taken following a practical inspection of the racecourse by the Inspector of Cources earlier today.

Punchestown's Winter feature is the #50,000 Grade 1 Durkan Chase on the December 10th. The Cross Country race scheduled for the same day will not be run. There will also be a safety limit of 15 runners per race on the day. This will aslo be in effect for the New Year's Eve meeting.

'Today's test has shown that the problem areas have not yet fully recovered and it is important that the remedial work continues uninterrupted to ensure that we have ideal ground for the Festival', advised Chief Executive Charles Murless.

Meanwhile, Tote Ireland announced today that the minimum bet on Win and Place pools placed at cash counters will be increased to #2.

Patrons wishing to have a #1 bet on a horse to win or be placed can still do so through the self-service ?Touch Tote' betting stations.

The move takes effect from Saturday, 2nd December.
