PROSPECTS GOOD FOR MONDAY MEETINGS

Tomorrow`s three meetings are confidently expected to beat the threat of waterlogging after an ease in the weather.

Jump racing should go ahead at both Plumpton and Leicester, whose decision to stage an all-chase card has been well supported by trainers.

A healthy total of 43 horses were declared today - from an entry of just 64 - for the three originally scheduled chases at Leicester which were then split to replace hurdle races scrapped due to waterlogging.

'The going on the chase course is good to soft and we have got no worries whatsoever,' said a course spokeswoman.

Officials are just as confident at Plumpton, which was reported to be the wettest place in Britain last Monday.

'The going is heavy but we are fine and no inspection is planned,' said clerk of the course David McHarg.

'The forecast is for it to stay dry, and we have got some frighteningly blue sky at present!'

Tomorrow`s third meeting is an all-weather Flat fixture at Southwell.
