Kentucky Derby winner Fusaichi Pegasus returned to training today with an easy trip around the Churchill Downs track over which he won Saturday's 126th renewal.
'He looks well,' said trainer Neil Drysdale, who returned to Kentucky after a quick post-Derby visit to his home base in California.
'He just went for a trot this morning and we'll probably trot him again tomorrow and keep kicking onwards and upwards.
Drysdale has yet to commit to a bid for the Preakness Stakes at Pimlico on May 20, the second leg of the American Triple Crown. But he said the colt has done nothing to discourage the notion of running at this point.
'The horse came out of the race well and looks well,' said Drysdale.
'We're planning to move forward, making shipping arrangements and that sort of thing. Probably tomorrow or Friday I'll just pop up to Pimlico and have a look around and we'll see where we go. We'll take one step at a time.'
Meanwhile, Godolphin's Kentucky Derby contingent is scheduled to ship out of Churchill Downs later today.
China Visit, sixth in the Derby, will head to England for a campaign on turf while the seventh Curule and Chief Seattle, who missed the race, will travel to New York.
