Brendan Powell makes his return to the saddle at Kempton Park tomorrow where he has four booked rides.
The 39-year-old jockey was badly injured in a heavy fall at Newton Abbot at the beginning of November when he was knocked unconscious and suffered six broken ribs and a punctured lung.
"Accidents happen like that, I've always enjoyed the game and I've got some lovely horses to look forward to," Powell told the BBC today.
One of the horses he is set to ride is the Peter Beaumont-trained Young Kenny on whom he won the Greenalls Grand National Trial, Midlands Grand National and Scottish Grand National last season.
"Mr Beaumont and Mr Reed, the owner, always said that I'd get back on the horse," Powell added. "He'll run either next Saturday or the following week and I'm looking forward to him."
Beaumont welcomed the news that Powell was set to return and confirmed that Young Kenny could be back in action soon.
"There is nothing definite yet, there's Cheltenham a week tomorrow for the Pillar Property Chase or the (Singer & Friedlander) National Trial at Uttoxeter.
"Hopefully he'll run in one of those but which one I'm not certain."
Young Kenny has failed to sparkle on his two runs this season, finishing unplaced in the Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup at Newbury in November and Coral Welsh National at Chepstow last month.
"He's fine but nothing's come to light," Beaumont added.
