Brendan Powell, who was badly injured in a heavy fall at Newton Abbot at the beginning of November, hopes to return to action at Kempton Park on Saturday.
The 39-year-old jockey, who was knocked unconscious in the spill and suffered six broken ribs and a punctured lung, said today: "All being well it will be Saturday when I'll be back.
"I've been going to the gym for an hour to an hour and a half each day and riding out every day and I feel very good.
"I've got a couple of rides for Bob Buckler, Rising Trout and Sporting Trout, and it looks like Sporting Trout will be my first ride back."
