Lester Piggott, 64, will be back in the saddle at Cologne on Saturday when he partners Sparkling Ruby in a race for retired jockeys.
Also representing Britain will be Greville Starkey, 60, who two seasons ago retired as assistant trainer to Sir Michael Stoute.
Benedikt Fassbender, managing director at the German course, this morning said: 'On Saturday we have a race for retired jockeys when Greville Starkey and Lester Piggott will come over from England with Vincent Rossiter and Gabriel Curran from Ireland, Henri Samani and Guy Guignard from France plus the best ex-champions from Germany.
'The meeting is over two days with the Group One Post Express Europa-Preis on Sunday.
'It was important to make Saturday, which has a Group Two over a mile, a little bit stronger so we introduced the race for retired jockeys for the first time last year and it proved a great success - the crowd went crazy.
'We have tried to make it more international this year. It will be the highlight and we are delighted to get Lester Piggott.'
Piggott`s mount will not be without a chance in Saturday`s #5,000 handicap, the Europcar Ex Champion-Rennen, as Fassbender explained: 'Sparkling Ruby won its last race very easy and before that finished a good second at Baden-Baden.
'Greville Starkey will ride Andy The Turbo, who has won four races this year and is a good handicapper.'
A spokeswoman for Piggott said: 'It looks like he`ll be riding there.'
