PENNY BIDS FOR FRANCS

Inforapenny, third in the Irish Oaks last time at odds of 100-1, is one of two British acceptors in the Prix Pomone at Deauville on Sunday.

The filly, trained by Richard Fahey, stood her ground in the Group Two contest along with the Sir Michael Stoute-trained Interlude.

Daring Miss, who finished runner-up to Montjeu for trainer Andre Fabre in the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud last time, spearheads the four home acceptors.

Also standing their ground at the probables stage today were Daring Miss's stablemate Space Quest, Sadler's Flag and Aubergade.

The Italian pair, Polar Charge (second in the Italian Oaks) and Persian Filly, plus Puntilla, the German Oaks winner, complete the list.

The John Dunlop-trained Iftiraas, winner of the Dubai Duty Free Fred Darling Stakes and fifth in the French 1000 Guineas, is the sole British acceptor in the Group Two Prix d'Astarte on the same card.

A total of 15 remain in the one-mile event including Zarkiya, an unlucky fourth in the French 1000 Guineas, and Lady Of Chad.

Zarkiya has since captured the Prix de Sandringham and finished fourth to Crimplene in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot.
