PACINO COMPLETES A CLASSIC AFTERNOON

Godolphin completed a long-distance Classic double today after Pacino proved unstoppable in the German 2000 Guineas in Cologne today.

The colt made all the running in the Mehl Mulhens Rennen to supplement the stable's success in the French 2000 Guineas with Bachir in Paris.

Pacino, a 5.3-1 shot on the Tote, sluiced home by three and a half lengths from Djibouti.

Jockey Paul Eddery said: 'I felt that Pacino had the race in the bag approaching the two-furlong marker.'

Astonished, John Hammond's impresive Portland Handicap winner of last season, won the Listed Grand Cave Koln Fliegerpreis over five furlongs on the same card.

The 2-5 shot ridden by Gary Carter, beat Sound Domino by a length and a quarter.
