John Oxx recorded a quick double when 22/1 shot Erdiyna came home in front of the Naas October Handicap in the hands of Mick Kinane.
Kinane who was prominent for most improved to lead from two furlongs out and kept on well to hold off the fast finishing Final Approach by a head.
A relieved Oxx said afterwards: “She’s very genuine and she stuck her nose out and battled very well.”
“She’s a filly that needs perfect conditions, she likes the yielding ground as she doesn’t go on soft or good to firm ground or the poly surface and she only runs well over a mile and a half.”
“She was also dropped two pounds after her last run, so it all helped and worked out well. I don’t know if she’ll ever repeat it.”
“She’s a very well bred filly and she’ll probably go to stud.”
