Montjeu will face a maximum of just four rivals in Sunday's Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud in Paris.
Last year's Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe winner, fresh from an impressive reappearance victory at the Curragh last month, was joined by his pacemaker Stop By at today's 'probables' stage for the Group One contest.
Also declared for the mile-and-a-half race today were Godolphin's pair Gracioso and Sagamix, plus Andre Fabre's Daring Miss.
Italian hope Timboroa and German horse Caitano were the two overnight defectors.
Gracioso was the only horse to beat Montjeu in Europe last year, having beaten the continent's champion three-year-old into second place in the Prix Lupin.
Sagamix won the Arc in 1998 but has been unplaced in all four outings since that year. -PA
