Sir Talbot will miss the Smurfit Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham after being injured in a fall at Jim Old's stable this morning.
The gelding, winner of the Vincent O'Brien County Hurdle at the Festival last season, had been a 14-1 chance for Tuesday's race with Coral.
Old said today: 'Unfortunately he fell while schooling this morning and he's very badly bruised. I'm just hoping it's no worse.
'He's definitely out of Cheltenham but I don't know about the rest of the season as yet - we'll just have to see how it goes.' -PA
