O'DWYER AND MOORE TREBLE DELIGHT

Jockey Conor O'Dwyer and trainer Arthur Moore combined for a short-priced hat-trick through The Gatherer, Hot Shots and Fadoudal Du Cochet at Punchestown today.

O'Dwyer got favourite backers off to a flying start with victory on The Gatherer (4-9) by three lengths from Look To The Future in division one of the Manor Inn Maiden Hurdle.

And he followed up a hard-fought neck verdict on Hot Shots (evens) over Gortmore Mews in the second division.

The treble was completed by Fadoudal Du Cochet (5-4), who made all to take the Tied Cottage Novice Chase from Bedthem Prince by three-and-a-half lengths.

Now the winner of five races, the seven-year-old 'jumped very well but is not quite top class' according to Moore.

'There is absolutely nothing suitable for this horse over his favourite two miles trip until the Festival back here in early May, unless we find something for him in England,' stressed the trainer.

Moore and O'Dwyer went close to another victory in the Cox's Cash and Carry Handicap Chase with top-weight Star Service.

But his bid to lead all the way was ruined when O'Dwyer's saddle slipped on the run-in and Paul Carberry got home by a head on 8-1 shot Streamstown, trained by Charlie Swan.

Swan had earlier been in the winner's enclosure as a jockey after the INH Novice Hurdle in which the Tony Martin-trained Rossmoff completed his hat-trick by two lengths at the expense of the well-backed Vanilla Man.
