O'Brien trio set for Breeders' Cup tonight

Three Aidan O'Brien trained horses will do battle Stateside this evening as the Breeders' Cup meeting gets underway at Churchill Downs in Kentucky.

The first of the three in action, all of which will be partnered by Ryan Moore, is Up in the Grade 2 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf over a mile at 8.50pm.

The daughter of Galileo finished down the field on her debut over 6f at the Curragh in May but got off the mark on the next time of asking over a mile at Dundalk in September.

Homecoming Queen is the next up in the Grade 1 Grey Goose Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies which will be run on the dirt track at 10:10pm.

Having failed to score on her first seven starts, the daughter of Holy Roman Emperor, finally got off the mark on her handicap debut at Fairyhouse in September.

The three parts sister to 2007 Arc hero Dylan Thomas was just beaten on her next start at the Curragh in the Group 3, CL Weld Park Stakes.

Stepped up to a mile for the first time on her last start she duly obliged winning a Listed contest again at the Curragh last month by an easy four and a quarter lengths.

Running over a mile again this evening she is sure to make a bold bid for victory.

Misty For Me will end the day for team Ballydoyle in the penultimate contest on the card, the Emirates Airline Breeders' Cup Fillies And Mares Turf at 10.50pm.

The Grade 1 contest will be run over 1m 3f which could prove to be the perfect trip for the daughter of Galileo.

Having finished fifth behind Dancing Rain in the Epsom Oaks over 1m 4f in June she then thrashed Midday by six lengths on her next start in the Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh over 1m 2f.

Last time out she disappointed in the Matron Stakes over 1m at Leopardstown in September.

Running over 1m 3f for the first time this evening she will have her work cut out for her in this top class contest but is sure to give a good account of herself wearing blinkers for the first time.
