O'Brien & Doyle on a winning Trail Apprentice jockey Joseph O’Brien partnered his third winner of the season when steering the Eoin Doyle trained Dusty Trail to win the Knockmealdown Handicap at Clonmel today. Formerly trained by Kevin Prendergast, the previous course and distance winning son of Indian Danehill tracked the leaders before eventually hitting the front a furlong and a half out, scoring a six lengths win over Metropolis. Afterwards Doyle reported “Dusty Trail had been dropped a fair bit in the weights anf had run well on his last start. He is a tough sort and may go for a six year old maiden hurdle at Tramore next.”
