No Memory (11/2) swept to the front after the second-last in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares’ Hurdle and stayed on well, despite guessing a bit at the last, to win by a length and a half.
Runner-up was Owenacurra Lass (7/2) with the 11/4 joint favourites Two Shoe Tom and Cosa Ban being outstayed in third and fourth respectively.
The winning daughter of Westerner, trained near Fermoy by Liam O’Brien, was winning her second hurdle race of the season and bouncing back from an unplaced run at Limerick last time out.
5lb claimer Ambrose McCurtain was on board the winner and commented: "The ground was just a bit too good for her the last day and the way the race was run didn't suit her.
"The softer ground today was a big help and the trip as well. There was a bit of an ease in the ground the day she won at Ballinrobe over two mile five.
"She is very tough and Liam (O'Brien) had her spot on for today, he does a great job with her.
"She'll get further in time, she won a point-to-point and is by Westerner, they all handle the soft ground very well.
"Liam is after placing her great and hopefully he'll be able to find another race with her somewhere along the line. She is small but very tough."
