It's Gordon Elliott 5, Noel Meade 2, and nobody else has got a look in at Punchestown. The latest Elliott winner was King's Song (Jamie Codd) in the Ingoldsby (Q.R.) Handicap Chase.
The fact that one of the Cullentra House scorers (Pallasator) was in the charity race is only a minor detail.
In common with the 3.10 victor, Ben Dundee King's Song was doing the business on start number one for Elliott.
The 12,500 pound August buy, out of the David Dennis yard, is a half-brother to a couple of big name horses in Shanahan's Turn and Wakanda.
Here he only had a loose horse and the final fence to contend with from two out. King's Song eventually had no less than fourteen lengths in hand over The Bay Birch
"He was a cheap buy from Ascot sales and I struggled to sell him for a week or two actually," said Elliott.
"We got him sold anyway and got a syndicate of lads put together. It's great for them and I'm delighted.
"Whatever the handicapper does he still looks like he's well enough handicapped over hurdles off 92. He should win another one you'd imagine."
