NYSAEAN IMPRESSIVE IN GALLINULE

Nysaean took the featured Patrick P O´Leary Memorial Gallinule Stakes in fine style this afternoon when making all under Jimmy Fortune.

The rain-softened ground proved ideal for the Sadler´s Wells four-year-old, who traveled smoothly throughout and quickened up nicely when asked for an effort over a furlong out to beat the heavily-backed Handel (11/8 to evens fav) by three lengths. Tipperary All Star was a further length back in third with Timawari fourth.

´He did it very well, and is certainly the best horse in our yard,´ said Richard Hannon junior, who added, ´He didn´t come off the bridle until a furlong out, and that was a better performance than when he won here in April. Soft ground helps him but he´s alright on anything except firm, and he´ll be entered for races like the Irish Champion Stakes.´
