Trainer Gay Kelleway and jockey Neil Callan were unsuccessful in their appeals at Portman Square this morning.
The pair were trying to overturn the decision of the Nottingham stewards to disqualify Praslin Island from first place in the Nottingham Racecourse And Conference Centre Handicap a week ago.
Callan had also been suspended from riding for six days having being found guilty of irresponsible riding of a major nature.
The disciplinary committee of the Jockey Club heard evidence today from Callan and Kelleway, both of whom were legally represented, and jockeys Philip Robinson and Daragh O'Donohoe, who were involved in the interference.
It concluded that Praslin Island had interfered with O'Donohoe's mount King For A Day, who in turn interfered with second-placed Zincalo, who in turn interfered with Global Draw and King Flyer.
They judged that the interference was caused by irresponsible riding on the part of Callan, in that from the start he manoeuvred across to the rails.
The committee dismissed the appeal and confirmed the revised placings.
Callan's six-day suspension stands and the deposit money was ordered to be forfeited.
Kelleway said: ''I'm a little bit disillusioned with it all. I just felt that the decision was made already.
"I was bothered by the fact that if Philip hadn't launched an objection, there wasn't even going to have been a stewards enquiry but the ruling was made that that wasn't part of the case and so I wasn't able to mention it.
"The issue was just whether Neil was guilty of irresponsible riding, which they decided he was and that was that.
"The rules are the rules and I can't change them but sometimes it just seems you can't go there and ever win anything.
"A lot of people have told me they thought it was a harsh decision and it's unfortunate but it was just a no-win situation so you've got to accept it."
