Detectives investigating the death of former leading American jockey Chris Antley questioned his friends on Monday but made no arrests in the case.
Antley, 34, was found dead Saturday night at his home 'with severe trauma to his head,' police said.
'We have no one in custody,' Lt. Keith Jones said.
The county coroner has scheduled an autopsy for today.
Police would say little about an Antley associate, Timothy Wyman Tyler Jr., who was arrested on Sunday in Pasadena on three drug warrants.
'We went to him because he`s an associate of the victim,' Jones said. 'We want to talk to him about any information he may have regarding this crime.'
Tyler was a frequent visitor at the Antley home, according to next-door neighbour Jim Herzfeld.
'He was here more than anybody in the last couple months,' Herzfeld said.
Antley`s career was interrupted by frequent battles with weight, alcohol and drugs. He lost his New York jockey`s licence in 1988, when he tested positive for cocaine and marijuana.
After entering drug rehab, he came back to win his first Kentucky Derby aboard Strike the Gold in 1991 and last year won the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes aboard Charismatic.
Antley stopped riding in March because of his ballooning weight, finishing second in his final race at Santa Anita on March 19th.
