NINE DECLARED FOR RITZ CLUB SPRINT

A field of nine horses has been declared for the Stg£100,000 Ritz Club Shergar Cup Sprint.

The six-furlong contest looks set to be a fascinating clash between Godolphin`s exciting Auenklang for the Rest of the World and the Aidan O`Brien-trained Bernstein for Europe.

The former, who will be ridden by Frankie Dettori, was an impressive winner of a Newbury Listed contest on his debut for Godolphin last month and has been made 5-4 favourite by Blue Square.

And the highly-regarded Bernstein, under Michael Kinane, drops back in trip having finished last in the Sagitta 2000 Guineas on his only start this season.

There are six runners in the other Stg£100,000 contest, the Dubai Internet City Shergar Cup Classic.

Europe`s trio is made up by Princess Of Wales`s Stakes winner Little Rock, smart stayer Arctic Owl and the enigmatic Kingsclere.

The Rest of the World team includes Murghem, aiming for his fifth successive victory, last year`s Italian Derby winner Mukhalif, and Kumatour.

Europe only have two of the five runners declared for the EBF Shergar Cup Oaks but they appear the strongest in the line-up, Ribblesdale Stakes winner Miletrian and Irish Oaks fourth Littlepacepaddocks.

And there are some promising juveniles in European team for the Fasliyev Shergar Cup Juvenile, the unbeaten duo Forwood (Michael Jarvis) and Turnberry Isle (Aidan O`Brien), and impressive Beverley winner Vicious Knight (Luca Cumani).
