Trainer Mark Tompkins today reported his well-regarded two-year-old Volata to be fine after missing Wednesday's TNT July Stakes at Newmarket due to a bruised foot.
The colt, the winner of a Newmarket maiden on his debut last month, could now head to Newbury a week on Saturday or to Goodwood next month as he seeks to maintain his unbeaten record.
Tompkins said: "He's fine, he just a bruised a foot.
"He's a nice horse and it drives you crazy - it never happens to the bad ones.
"He'll either go to Goodwood for the Richmond Stakes or to Newbury for the Rose Bowl Stakes."
