Darley, Sheikh Mohammed's stallion and breeding operation, is to sponsor the Group One Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket.
The seven-furlong race, part of the Champions' Day card at headquarters in October, often decides which juvenile colt heads the European classifications.
Past winners Pennekamp (1994) and Xaar (1997) are among the stallions that stand at the Darley Stud in Newmarket.
"We like to support championship races - we also support the Darley July Cup, the Kildangan Stud Irish Oaks and the Aston Upthorpe Yorkshire Oaks," said Darley's marketing manager Jocelyn Targett.
"The Dewhurst is Europe's greatest two-year-old race and sponsoring it gives us a chance to help reward excellence."
The race, worth £200,000, was last sponsored in 1998 by Saudi Arabian Airlines but did not have a backer last year.
