Pierse Contracting Ltd today announced that they are to take over as sponsors of what was formerly the Ladbroke Hurdle at Leopardstown on Sunday January 14th.
The prestigious handicap will now be known as the Pierse Hurdle and will carry a prize fund of #100,000.
As an added bonus Pierse Contracting are to award #50,000 to any horse who wins the Pierse Hurdle and goes on to be successful in the County Hurdle at Cheltenham in March.
The company also announced an increase in the value of the Pierse Chase on the same card from #50,000 to #75,000.
