Brendan Powell is in the wars again, less than a week after his return from serious injury.
The long-serving rider was taken to hospital for treatment after a crashing fall from Monnaie Forte at Doncaster today.
Powell was able to get to his feet but was clearly in some pain as he was helped away from the track.
The jockey feared he damaged ribs in the fall and left the course to go for x-rays at the Doncaster Royal Infirmary.
"I feel very sore and I may have a little crack in one of the ribs. It's probably one I didn't fracture before," said Powell.
"I don't know for sure if anything's broken but I definitely won't be able to ride tomorrow."
Powell returned to action at Kempton last Saturday nearly three months after sustaining six broken ribs and a punctured lung when knocked unconscious in a fall at Newton Abbot.
