Royal Ascot's Prince Of Wales's Stakes could feature a showdown between equine superstars Dubai Millennium and Montjeu, it was revealed today.
The four-year-olds are among 47 entries published for the £250,000 contest on June 21st, which has been upgraded to Group One status this season.
Godolphin's Dubai Millennium was a very impressive winner of the Emirates Dubai World Cup in March, while 1999 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe hero Montjeu has not raced since being beaten in the Japan Cup last November.
Other notable entries include Dubai Millennium's stablemates Sagamix, winner of the 1998 Arc, and last year's 2000 Guineas victor Island Sands, along with Jim And Tonic, Shiva and Indian Lodge.
Sagamix is also among the 34 entries for the £210,000 Gold Cup the following day.
The last three winners of the race Celeric (1997), Kayf Tara (1998) and Enzeli (1999) all feature among the entries for the two-and-a-half-mile contest.
Godolphin and Aidan O'Brien both hold strong hands in the St James's Palace Stakes on the opening day, for which 73 entries have been revealed.
There are 13 Saeed bin Suroor-trained colts in the Group One race including the Dubai operation's Kentucky Derby hope China Visit.
O'Brien has 12 in the race including leading Sagitta 2000 Guineas contenders Giant's Causeway and Bernstein and the unbeaten Monashee Mountain.
Other notable entries include Distant Music, Barathea Guest, Cape Town, Misraah and King's Best.
Godolphin are also responsible for 10 of the 74 entries for the Group One Coronation Stakes on June 23rd including Sagitta 1000 Guineas second favourite Bintalreef and Teggiano.
1000 Guineas favourite Petrushka is in the race along with other Newmarket fancies Amethyst, High Walden and Seazun.
