Review NAVAN 5TH JUN

Michael Halford and Mick Kinane were the men in form at Navan as both secured trebles.

The pair teamed up to good effect in the opening Lynn Lodge Stud EBF Median Auction Maiden as Briland justified favouritism.

The 5/2f was produced to lead close home by Kinane and get the better of debutant Silly Dancer by the narrowest of margins.

Stable apprentice Rory Cleary got the leg up on Halford's other two winners and shone on Princess Nala in the Coolmore King Charlemagne EBF Maiden.

The 1/1f had plenty of ground to make up turning for home, as Lilly Hawk had stretched the field with a searching pace.

Cleary refused to panic, however, and produced the filly to lead inside the final furlong and beat Briolette by two-and-a-half lengths.

Sister Sox (7/2 to 3/1f) was well supported in the Dundalk Football Club Handicap and she won in good style. Cleary sent his mount into the lead a furlong-and-a-half out and she stayed on strongly to beat Night Delight by a length.

Kinane recorded number two when Powder Paint made a winning debut in the Coolmore Mull Of Kintyre EBF Maiden. John Oxx's filly showed a great attitude to get the better of Bawaader by a length.

Charlie Swan provided Kinane with the third leg of his treble when Anno Jubilo stayed on strongly to land the Ladbrokes Handicap.

Baggio (6/4 to 1/1f) was backed as though defeat was out of the question in the Kells Handicap but he had to settle for third as Fairy Pass swooped late to score for James Burns and Danny Grant.

High Priestess gained a deserved success over hurdles when taking the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Novice Hurdle at Tralee.

Barry Geraghty had few problems on the Michael O'Brien-trained mare as she secured an easy six-length victory at odds of 8/15.

Andrew McNamara was also in good form as the Limerick jockey secured a quick double in then opening two races courtesy of Peripheral Vision and Clock House.
