All Too Beautiful is on course for the Vodafone Oaks after making the step up to Listed class by landing the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Salsabil Stakes. However the race was slightly marred when Michael Kinane took a fall in the straight which led to a four days suspension for winning rider Jamie Spencer.
The Sadler's Wells full-sister to Galileo was sent off the 4/7 favourite, and led over a furlong out to beat Queen Astrid by two and a half lengths. Champion jockey Kinane was taken to nearby Navan hospital for observation on a sore neck after his mount Sahara Sonnet clipped the heels of the leader inside the final quarter mile.
The head-on camera showed that Spencer's mount edged marginally left onto Sahara Sonnet, and he was given a four day ban (May 3, 5, 6 & 7) for careless riding. It was Spencer's second careless riding offence this season.
'She was always a beauty at home, and Jamie taught her plenty today. The plan has always been to give her two runs before the Oaks, and she will go straight to Epsom now,' said Aidan O'Brien.
The Ballydoyle trainer also had an upbeat report on 2,000 Guineas favourite One Cool Cat saying, 'I'm very happy with him, and everything has gone well so far. I may also run Tumblebrutus in the Guineas.'
Spencer continued his rapid start to the season by completing his fourth treble of the year including taking over from Kinane on Tequise, who swept past Dukestreet inside the final furlong of the mile handicap to score by three and a half lengths.
Lady Portia set the ball rolling for Spencer in the sprint handicap, leading over a furlong out to beat Grant by three quarters of a length and put him on the 18 winner mark for the season.
Cathy Gannon also picked up a chance winner when successfully replacing Kinane on Zarafsha in the ten furlongs maiden. The grey daughter of Alzao swished her tail repeatedly in the straight but still kept on gamely to beat market rival Arch Rebel by three and a half lengths.
'She's swished her tail from day one at home but is a promising filly. She will get a mile and a half, and would like better ground,' said John Oxx's assistant Jimmy O'Neill.
Fred Tylicki partnered his first winner when Chantelle caused a 20/1 shock in the apprentice maiden. Tylicki, 17, whose father and namesake was three times champion jockey in Germany, is apprenticed to Dermot Weld and has been riding out at Rosewell House soon after arriving from his homeland over two years ago. The four-year-old filly was the German teenager's fifth ride in public.
Danny O'Sullivan saddled his first winner when Itsonlywoody took the two-year-old auction maiden, always prominent under Billy Lee and led over a furlong out to beat Trim Image by a length.
O'Sullivan, 28, who rode ten winners in a riding career with Tommy Stack, Arthur Moore and a spell in Britain with Bob Buckler, said 'I only got my licence last month, and have 25 in training near Mitchelstown with four of those for the Flat.'
The fillies handicap was delayed by 15 minutes before the ambulance transporting Kinane returned, and victory here went to Brogella who just held off the late challenge of All Theatrical with Debona an unlucky fourth.
