The defeat of three of Dermot Weld's short priced horses at Galway today leaves the perennial Leading Trainer at Galway trailing rival Willie Mullins at the head of this year's renewal, following the running of the first four races.
Weld's horses, for once, haven't excelled this week and the 28 times Leading Trainer winner, with three winners, trails Mullins 48-47 points.
Mullins' seventh win was gained in today's featured Ladbrokes Handicap Hurdle with Valyssa Monterg which led home a 1-2 for the Champion Jumps Trainer.
Weld's First Figaro which can be expected to pick up more points in today's Bumper, is the sole runner from the pair in the concluding three races today.
The unexpected but fascinating duel will be settled on Sunday with Mullins sending out five runners, against a pair of Weld runners.
Five points are awarded for a win, three from second and one point for third.
