The Paul Nolan trained Moskova under Robbie Power, recorded her eighth career win at Fairyhouse today when running out the nine lengths winner of the Dunshaughlin Hurdle.
The daughter of Montjeu, known to be a difficult ride, was held up by Power and produced with impeccable timing to lead at the final flight, staying on well for a nine lengths win.
Nolan was absent but was represented by his brother and assistant James Nolan who stated “Moskova isn't ungenuine but doesn't like to be crowded in her races and with today's small field, we had to take our chance.”
He added “Moskova needs five or six weeks off between races and her run the last day was a little too close to her Christmas run. Either the Mares Hurdle or Coral Cup at Cheltenham are small possibilities but possibly wont suit her so the Irish Grand National or the Ashbourne Mares Chase back here in April are more likely targets.”
