Mix-up leads to withdrawal at Dundalk

There was a strange reason for a withdrawl in the fourth race on the card at Dundalk tonight, as the Jim Bolger trained Bandiuc was left at home with a different horse being brought to the racecourse instead.

The Turf Club veterinary officer reported that the filly presented for racing tonight could not be identified from the passport lodged and in his opinion was a different horse.

On arriving at the track John Griffin, who was representing Jim Bolger, reported to the Stewards that in his opinion the wrong horse had been loaded and they didn't realise until they unloaded the horse at the racecourse.

The Stewards subsequently withdrew the horse and referred the matter on to the Chief Executive of the Turf Club for further investigation.
