Miss Forde gained an overdue success as she took the Floodlit Friday Nights At Dundalk Maiden for Jim Bolger and Kevin Manning (doubling up after winning aboard Rigid Rock in the opener).

The grey 3yo daughter of Clodovil was just touched off over the course and distance recently by Empress Of Tara and before that she had finished second on three of her sixth other starts.

Sent off at 3/1 this evening she raced mainly in third before improving to lead from two furlongs out.

She was clear with a furlong left to go and stayed on well under pressure to score by five lengths at the line from the Eddie Lynam trained Zip Wire (4/1) in second under Gary Carroll.

The John McConnell trained Kharezi finished a further length back in third at 33/1 under Michael Hussey while the 2/1 favourite Urban Ball could only manage a disappointing seventh under Johnny Murtagh for John Oxx.

Kevin Manning said afterwards: "She has been running well all season and has been knocking on the door.

"When she has got her head in front tonight, she has gone and done it really well."

Jim Bolger wasn’t present at Dundalk this evening but he said on the phone: "She will make a lovely hurdler."
