Memories Of Milan just came out on top after an exciting finish to the opening two and a half miles Powerstown Maiden Hurdle at Clonmel.
Tim Carroll 's mount and chief market-rival Barel Of Laughs (Robbie Power) set down to battle it out from the second last, and the 11/8 favourite just found a bit extra in the closing stages despite veering a bit left to prevail by half a length.
Winning trainer John Queally said: “He had a lovely run in a bumper at Navan last time, and will go next for a three mile novice at Fairyhouse as he stays well. He'll stay hurdling next season as he's a handy sort, and hopefully there will be a handicap in him at some stage.”
