Aidan and Joseph O'Brien completed a quick double in the concluding ten furlong maiden at Navan as Felix Mendelssohn justified good support.
The Galileo colt was produced on outer in the straight and was driven into contention at the furlong pole.
The 11/10 favourite (2/1 this morning) had to work in the closing stages to get the better of Ceylon by a length-and-a-quarter.
The winner had been well touted before finishing fourth on his debut at Leopardstown in May and was making his first start since then.
“He's had a few little problems but is a lovely horse,” said Joseph O'Brien afterwards.
“I was going to ride him handy as he's uncomplicated but they went a good gallop. He should improve and get a mile-and-a-half.”
