Andrew Lynch bagged the first part of a Thurles double in somewhat fortuitous fashion as Kansas City Chief took the Jimmy Neville Memorial Beginners Chase.
Mary Hallahan's 7-1 chance looked booked for a place at best as Hurricane Darwin cruised into the lead, but he came down at the last, allowing Kansas City Chief to get the better of a real scramble to the line, as he fended off So Young s late run to score by three-quarters of a length.
